| SCELBI-8H SCELBI stood for "SCientific, ELectronic, and BIological" computer. The SCELBI microcomputer, introduced in late 1973 from SCELBI Computer Consulting, Inc., of Milford, Connecticut, was based on the Intel 8008 microprocessor and was available in kit form. Several hundred were sold at about $500 each, but it did not become a big market success. SCELBI-8B In mid 1975, the SCELBI-8B was produced which had increased memory and more software available for it. By the late 1970's, the SCELBI company had discontinued making hardware and concentrated on software, books and publications on applications. |
